Bec {hearts} Cameras

My love of photography and cameras is no secret. I have loved everything to do with photography since I was little.  So you can imagine my excitement when I found this CUTE old Polaroid camera recently on one of my antique shopping trips. The memories of watching polaroid photos develop in my hand came flooding back and I had a smile on my face all day.

Two other vintage cameras that I have in my little collection is one that belonged to my grandmother and an old camera of my husbands. Love them both for so many different reasons.

Photography....it has been a love of mine for as long as I can remember.  My love of photography comes from my Dad.  As a child I would watch him take photos, loved looking at his camera and enjoyed even more looking through the photo albums with him.

Whilst I have a long way to go to call myself a photographer, it has been a hobby that I have explored more and more over the last two years.  In late 2009 and mid 2010, my darling husband sent me to two photography workshops held by the incredible talented Barb 'Jinky' Uil from JinkyArt.  I discovered JinkyArt many years ago now and have constantly been inspired by Barb's work.  Not only are her photo's gorgeous but she is the most amazing soul.  If you ever attend a workshop you will see just how generous she is with her knowledge, ideas and inspiration.

I have also been lucky enough to have a family photo session with her back in August 2009.  Since I am always the one behind the camera, I rarely get many family photos that I am in {and that I am happy with!}.  So to have Barb capture our family having fun was priceless.  I will share a few of our family's session.

Over the last 30 years {gasp} crafting has always been a big part of my life. I received my first sewing machine, that being a gorgeous Strawberry Shortcake model, at the age of six for Christmas. I spent hours sewing, drafting patterns for Barbie dolls clothes and making handbags. I have always loved fabrics and as my husband has discovered probably a little bit too much. I have boxes of fabric that I have bought over the years and generally love them too much to use! Amy Butler would have to be my all time favourite designer. Her colour ways and designs are truly superb! I love browsing through her Inspiration pages, not only does she display quilts, bags and soft furnishings but also stationery, books, gift wares and wall papers.
