Rainbow dessert table........

My daughter turned ten in May and to celebrate double figures, she decided that she wanted to have a rainbow coloured party. Her only request was that she had a layered rainbow cake. Truth be told, I get a little bit anxious if I have to style a party with lots of colour. I would much prefer to work with a colour pallet of two to three colours.

Of course, in my mind, I had all these crafting and cooking ideas to make it a really pretty party with lots of details. But as always, I had other work on and time was not on my side. My daughter even made the comment on the Wednesday before the party 'Mum, are you going to make my party pretty because you haven't started anything!?!'. So in three days and with the help of my gorgeous friend Zina we managed to pull a very cute little party together.

Peach Table

Maybe it's the autumn weather or just simply because it is such a pretty colour but I am loving peach tones at the moment. For this dessert table I really wanted to use some gorgeous white hobnail compotes and milk white cake plates to display and array of desserts and candy. Because I used all white vessels and peach candy, I added touches of orange to add a little depth of colour to the table.

A sweet little Pink and Purple 1st birthday.

So on Easter saturday we set up a sweet little first birthday for a client's daughter. In our haste, we forgot to bring our camera to get some proper pictures, but thank goodness for iPhone and Instagram ;) The client wanted a pretty dessert table using the colours pink and purple. She had loved the doilies used on this table here and had requested something similar. The lighting wasn't amazing as it was under a tent, but you get the idea!

A Little Love and Happiness anyone?

There's a charming little store that's opened up not far from where i live called Little Love and Happiness. I stumbled on it a few months back and was instantly in love. Georgina , the creator of this delight has managed to throw together new with old, art with vintage, designer with antique, home-wears with floristry....and she has done it beautifully. The store is only tiny, yet i could still spend a decent amount of time there gazing at all the little treasures. From scrabble pieces to handmade treasures to stunning bouquets....my only criticism would be that it's almost impossible to leave empty handed!

Georgina's floristry style leans more towards loose, hand-picked-from-the-garden style....arrangements that seem to be inspired by the wild beauty of nature. She will often surprise with extra elements such as an orange half or "Cows Udders" (as seen in the bouquets above and below). Recently i had the opportunity to put Georgina's talents to use on a party we styled, and couldn't have been happier with the results! The bouquets were gorgeous and so colourful. Heres a little look...

Hello there! How was your Easter? Ours was spent with friends and family eating way too much good food and  and enjoying way to many sweets (oh my!). 

We also had a sweet little first Birthday party to set up on Easter Saturday. Unfortunatley, we forgot to bring our camera, but i will share some instagramed pics soon :). This week we are finalising the details for this party. Can't wait to see it all put together! I think it will be one of my favourite parties that we've worked on.

DIY Easter Egg Flowers

If your looking for some last minute DIY Easter  ideas, here's a quick and easy little tute for you. These little egg carton flowers would make sweet little favours for your Easter guests, or you could make some as gifts for any friends or family you might be visiting! I made two for our Easter brunch table, and it only took me about 20 minutes. This is also a fun one to do with the kiddies, and really....who says you can only do this for Easter? It would make a cute little decoration for any time of the year!

Recipes for Good Friday

I've been looking for some yummy recipes for Good Friday. I wanted to make dinner and then wrap it up and have a picnic in the park somewhere with the Mr. and the kiddies and maybe some good friends as well. Doesn't that sound yummy, a nice home-baked dinner in the park? I've found a few (ahem) good recipes and now i just have to decide which one i will make. I thought i'd share them with you.
